I just had to get up and write about some of the very many fabulous tips and ideas that are going through my head after reading Gary Vaynerchuks' book "Crush It". Pretty neat and oh so different type of book! it was awesome and fun to read. Basically tells you to take something that you're absolutely, totally and completely passionate about and make it your career.

Who says someone out there isn't interested in what you love to do?

Can you make it authentic, informative, fun and yet real?

Do you have enough experience in it to help others understand and learn from your interactions and dealings with what you are passionate about? Are true to yourself in this passion and just KNOW that you can help others out there like you?

Go ahead then, find out how and just do it already! Many of you already know that my passions are many but the one that is dearest to my heart, is helping women (and men that want help too) that are 30+ years old, overweight but not clinically obese, lose and keep their fat off. To that end, I am constantly researching this subject for my ladies out there, so they do not have to. I even try some products that seem to be "Magical" in getting that fat off your hips or belly or wherever yours is (mine is on the back and belly)!

If you have read some of my earlier articles, you will know that I recently tried an HCG product that stimulated the hypothalamus and caused it to just "melt" fat off where ever it was on your body. If you want more information on what happened when I tried this product, go ahead and look as some of my earlier articles.

So, what about Maple Syrup? Well, it turns out it is actually GOOD for you. Now isn't that wonderful news? Here in eastern Ontario and QC (and parts of NE USA) we are smack tab in the middle of maple syrup season and the producers are having a banner year with ideal conditions. They are getting out there as fast as they can for you!

Here are some really neat stats on maple syrup:

-1/4 cup (60 ml) serving of pure maple syrup has about the same antioxidant value as an orange and fewer calories than honey.

- It contains zinc, calcium and is high in manganese, which studies have shown can help form connective tissue ( will it help my wrinkles decrease I wonder?) strengthen bones and encourage calcium absorption.

- It is good in so many ways- you won't know how to keep it bottled up. Go on out and grab some real, 100% maple syrup.

Following is a great recipe for a vinaigrette using maple syrup to top your favourite mild greens:

I personally love it with spinach, un-ripened goats cheese, olives and grape tomatoes:

- Maple Vinaigrette: In a bowl, whisk together 2 tbsp (30 ml) 100% pure maple syrup, 1.5 tsps (7 ml) of cider vinegar, 1 tsp (5 ml) of Dijon prepared mustard, 1/8 tsp (0.5ml) of pepper. Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup (60ml) of canola oil until it is smooth and almost creamy.

Mix with greens. I do not suggest using olive oil in this recipe as it overpowers the taste of the maple syrup.. It certainly eases MY conscience with regard to eating this wonderous treat from Mother Nature, how about yours? So go ahead, find a local producer, make his/her day and ENJOY!
